Custom visuals made under More Eyes for DnB All Stars at the famous paintwork's nightclub for the closing event.

We were commissioned by More Eyes Studio to create visual content for the final DnB Allstars event at Printworks London. Our task was to design and produce content for the venues iconic tall LED screen, which stands over 20ft tall in the former tabloid printing facility turned events space.

Working closely with More Eyes, we developed a visuals package that featured 3D/2D hero & background motion graphics. Utilizing the latest motion capture software and character animation we were able to add a grand spectacle to the event.

GAMESCOM
24

We were thrilled when we were approached by Envy Create to assist in the delivery of content for Xbox Gamescom 2024 in Cologne (GERMANY).

We provided support and completed some of the heavier scenes for use across the screen set up called 'The Nexus'. This was an 8 screen set up, spread across the venue, displaying announcements, trailers and more.

Event Nexus

One of the tasks we had was to create an event specific XBOX logo that could used across all the content for the event.

This meant taking the existing XBOX ident and adding some of the fluorescent colouring present in the visual identity of the event branding to give the brand mark a unique look for GAMESCOM.

Beauty in CGI

We firmly believe that rendering can help deliver something that traditional photography can't achieve, and certainly not at the same cost. We're able to rely on our long standing history of art direction and design to help conceptualise and create a multitude of styles, backdrops and content that go beyond what you could expect from other mediums.

This benefit is particularly useful when creating these types of campaigns and imagery, as the ideas develop we are able to adapt and change our content without the need for re-shoots or costly editing processes. Need to change the label? No problem. Want some colours changing? We've got that covered, without compromising on quality.

We love creating product imagery like this for that very reason, it allows out clients the space to experiment, and allows us to have fun.

Process & Collaborations

We were initially approached by Fight or Flight Studio to help out with the concepts and CGI. Fight or Flight was responsible for the branding elements, logos and general product design. We were handed a fairly black slate when it came to our creative, the watch words being 'minimal', 'clean' and monochromatic.

Running with this we created our visuals to complement this and keep a consistency of tone throughout the campaign.

Spirit of Summer

Below is a collection of the imagery and animations that was commissioned for Tattu, a luxury restaurant with locations across the UK. We were approached by Persona UK to create CGI stills and animations for use in Tattu's marketing campaign 'Spirit of Summer'

Mastering Materials

The brief was simple. Gold, Gold and more, Gold. Positronic was left with fairly free reign when it came to the concepting, everything outside of the logo designs seen above, was created in house at Positronic, both conceptually and creation wise. Since so much relied on a believable gold texture, we spent a large portion of time on shader creation. This, alongside an established lighting convention, was what helped sell the content.

Elegant Simulations

We undertook some simple and effective simulation work over the course of the project, ranging from liquid to soft body interactions. To create some of the more complex sims we dived into Houdini, but for the most part we used Maxon's Cinema 4D's native tool package to achieve our goals.

Design Journey

Working with the fantastic team over at BBH, the CGI was directed by Paul Dixon. Our mission was to carry out Paul's directorial vision and bring it to life. We under took various stages of story boarding and animatics to achieve the end result, one brand film and 4 separate product videos.

Accuracy & Engineering

We were lucky enough to have been provided with the CAD models for the entirety of Movu's product range. The Atlas, The Eligo, The Escala, The iFollow and the warehouse racking used in their systems world wide. These models were subsequently optimized by the team for use in production. The assets then went through a rigorous process of texturing and shading.

Farm to Table

Due to some of the intense demands of the pipeline, both time and quality, we utilized an external render farm for a portion of the rendering requirements. Using Ranch Computing we were able to keep a steady output of updates flowing to the client so there was never a bottleneck with amendments. We ended up rendering over 6000 frames for the total project.

We use a mixture of traditional video technology and bespoke VJ software. Our live visuals are produced using a combination of node based visual programming applications Touch Designer and Notch alongside Resolume, blending cutting edge artistry with real-time creativity.
